This isn't your everyday Greek salad. I've swapped in crisp, sweet-tart raw guava for a bite that goes really well with the fresh veggies and salty feta. It's a small Indian-inspired twist on a Mediterranean classic, and it might just become your new favorite version.

I have always felt that having raw cucumbers or onions in a salad is not liked by all. But when you mix fresh veggies and give them a good toss with a hint of sweet and salty flavors, these blended flavors are indeed the best flavor for a fresh salad.

Another twist that I added is the addition of raw mango. It adds a perfect tang flavor, and I am in awe of raw mango. So I add it to chutneys/ dips and curries!

This salad comes together in about 15 minutes with no cooking involved. It works well as a side with any meal, or on its own for a light lunch. You can prep the veggies ahead and add the dressing just before serving, so it stays fresh and crisp.

If you are like me, you will find this salad super delicious!

    Expert Tips

    • Use of freshly chopped vegetables and fruits is highly recommended. That ensures the freshness of the salad.
    • I didn't have any leftovers. If you have any, add them to an airtight container with a lid and refrigerate for about 2 days. Since the salad has maple syrup and tomatoes, there is a high chance that it may be runny if stored for a long time and have no crunchy texture thereafter.
    • To make it ahead of time, chop everything and store them in separate containers with a lid. Assemble and garnish just before serving.
