Ingredients
- Corn on the cob: This recipe uses fresh corn on the cob. The same recipe can be used for making crispy corn kernels.
- Sesame Oil: You may use ghee or butter as well.
- Lemon juice: Freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Red Chili: Make it spicy with red chili powder. My version of spicy may be different. So I would suggest starting with less chili powder.

How To Make Air Fryer Corn On Cob Indian
Step 1 Prepping The Cob
Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes to ensure it's hot and ready for cooking.
If using fresh corn on the cob, remove the husks and silk, leaving the cobs intact. Lightly brush the corn cob with sesame oil or olive oil or melted butter. This will add flavor and help the seasoning stick to the corn. I have used sesame oil. Break the corn in parts to place it easily in air fryer basket.
Step 2 Air Fry The Corn Cob
Place the seasoned corn on the cob in the air fryer basket or on the grill pan. Make sure they are in a single layer and not overlapping to ensure even cooking. Air fry the corn on the cob at 400°F (200°C) for about 10-12 minutes. The cooking time may vary depending on the size of the corn and your air fryer's performance. You can check the corn halfway through and rotate them.
To check if the corn is done, pierce a kernel with a fork. The corn should be tender and cooked through.
Step 3 Cool, Glaze and Serve
Once the corn on the cob is cooked to your liking, remove it from the air fryer and let it cool for a moment.
Serve the air-fried corn on the cob hot with your favorite toppings like butter, grated cheese, fresh herbs, or a squeeze of lime juice. I prefer applying the red chili, chaat masala, and salt mixture with half cut lemon.
Expert Tips
- I don't recommend soaking corn in the water as that would make corn soggy and not crispy. Unless, you are using this recipe for boiling corns easily, don't soak the corn cob in water.
- Before air frying, only apple oil/ ghee. This step is important as it would result in perfect browning of corn or else they won't.
- Make sure to rotate the corn, when half way through, to ensure even cooking on all sides.
- When pierced with a fork, the corn should be tender but not mushy, if it's done.
- If you are using frozen corn cob, it's ideal to thaw the frozen corn on the cob before air frying.
- Wrap the corn in plastic wrap or store it in an airtight container and place it in the refrigerator. Use the cooked corn within 2-3 days for the best quality. I don't recommend freezing the air fried corn cob as it would make them very chewy.

Recipe FAQs
Yes, corn turns out brown and crispy from the out and tender within when roasted in air fryer. If you want a quicker way of roasting corns, you should use air fryer.
I set it at the highest temp (200 degrees C) for the charred corn.
You may put the foil in air fryer's basket. However, I would suggest not to as it may react with the food kept in it. The best way is to use parchment paper or directly place food in the basket and clean it later.
