Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 large fresh corn on the cob
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tsp red chili powder optional as it would make it spicy
  • 2 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • pink salt or chaat masala as per taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for a few minutes to ensure it's hot and ready for cooking.
  • If using fresh corn on the cob, remove the husks and silk, leaving the cobs intact. Lightly brush the corn cob with sesame oil or olive oil or melted butter. This will add flavor and help the seasoning stick to the corn. I have used sesame oil.
  • Place the seasoned corn on the cob in the air fryer basket or on the grill pan. Make sure they are in a single layer and not overlapping to ensure even cooking.Air fry the corn on the cob at 400°F (200°C) for about 10-12 minutes. The cooking time may vary depending on the size of the corn and your air fryer's performance. You can check the corn halfway through and rotate them.
  • To check if the corn is done, pierce a kernel with a fork. The corn should be tender and cooked through.
  • Once the corn on the cob is cooked to your liking, remove it from the air fryer and let it cool for a moment.
  • Serve the air-fried corn on the cob hot with your favorite toppings like butter, grated cheese, fresh herbs, or a squeeze of lime juice. I prefer applying the red chili and salt mixture with half cut lemon.

Notes

  • It's essential to preheat your air fryer before roasting corn cob.. This ensures that the corn starts cooking immediately.
  • I don't recommend soaking corn in the water as that would make corn soggy and not crispy. Unless, you are using this recipe for boiling corns easily, don't soak the corn cob in water.
  • Before air frying, only apple oil/ ghee. This step is important as it would result in perfect browning of corn or else they won't.
  • Air fry on highest temperature as the high heat will create that desirable grilled texture and char on the corn.
  • Make sure to rotate the corn, when half way through, to ensure even cooking on all sides.
  • When pierced with a fork, the corn should be tender but not mushy, if it's done.
  • If you are using frozen corn cob, it's ideal to thaw the frozen corn on the cob before air frying. You can do this by placing the frozen cobs in the refrigerator overnight and keeping on the kitchen counter half an before air frying. Make sure to dry it with kitchen cloth
