Soak Samvat rice in a bowl for ten min.
In the meantime, you may thin slice potatoes and chop tomatoes in small chunks..
Fry peanuts in desi ghee.
Let them be brown and crisp and then take in a separate bowl.
Fry potatoes. Make sure to add in hot ghee and then simmer or else they would remain raw from inside. Thats the reason we sliced them thin.
Take out fried potatoes once brown.
Keep the fried peanuts and fried potatoes in separate bowls as they are to be added later.
Add Jeera and chopped tomatoes anlong with chopped green chillies . You may add little salt here for quick cooking. Also cover with lid.
when tomatoes are cooked, they leave ghee. You may add Kali Mirch(Black Pepper).
Remove water from soaked samvat rice. Add Rice to Tomatoes gravy.
Add water and sendha salt. cover it. It takes around 5-10 minutes for rice to soften up depending ore on quantity of rice. Add water around twice the quantity of rice. It takes much less time to cook as compared to our white rice.
You may check in between. The rice absorbs water and starts getting soft. If you want to eat it later, leave it with loose consistency as it gets dried up fast. If you are eating fresh, then just the Pulao consistency would be okay.
Once its completely soft, you may add fried peanuts and fried potatoes.
Sprinkle lemon juice.
The samvat Pulao is Ready!!! Serve it hot with dahi..
