Perfect Saffron Infused Basmati Rice made with Jaggery

PREP TIME: 10 min

Basmati Rice Saffron Jaggery Ghee, coconut flakes Cardamom, cinnamon stick, fennel seeds, bay leaf Turmeric powdere Milk

COOK TIME: 15 MIN

INGREDIENTS

Step 1

Rinse and soak basmati rice for about 10-15 minutes.

In a pressure cook, heat ghee, add all spices. Mix Saffron strands in milk.

Add saffron milk to the sauteed spices.

Step 4

Add lumps of jaggery and cook on slow flame. It will take 3-5 min for it to melt.

The jaggery syrup is don. add drained rice.

Step 6

Add water to the pressure cooker. The ratio of rice to water is 1: 2. Pressure cook for two whistles on full flame and then swtch off.

The cooked jaggery rice is ready. It is  fluffy and aromatic.

Serve the saffron rice made with jaggery and coconut hot!
