  • 1.25 bowl Rice 1 bowl may be around 50 gm
  • 1 bowl Arhar Dal
  • 1 Bayleaf
  • 2 Laung(cloves)
  • 2 Black pepper Sabut
  • 1 teaspoon Haldi powder (Turmeric)
  • 2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 2 teaspoon Desi Ghee
  • 2-3 bowl Water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon Jeera
  • 1-2 small Eliachi (cardamom)
  • a pinch Heeng (Asafoetida)
  • salt as per taste

Notes

This is the simplest version of Khari Khichdi. Those looking for weight-loss may also include lots of vegetables like Peas, carrot, cauliflower, etc (Fine chopped) and can reduce rice -portion as well.
