Ina large heavy saucepan, roast makhane in desi ghee till they absorb it.

Gradually add milk. (It will splutter, so let the flame be slow) Let it cook for about 3-5 min. Keep Stirring.

After few min, it thickens. You may grind roasted makhana and then add milk. Add cardapmom and sugar.

Healthy quick and deliclious Makhana kheer is ready. Serve it hot/chilled as you like.
