Ingredients
This recipe uses easily available ingredients that may be in your pantry or can be easily procured from the local store. For the measurements, refer to the recipe card.
- Pumpkin Puree- I recommend using the orange pumpkin for making the homemade puree. If you are busy, you may use the canned puree as well, but the taste may differ.
- Pumpkin Spice- Pumpkin spice is a combination of spices- cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, black pepper, nutmeg, and ginger powder. I am not sure about any brands of pumpkin spice as I have all these spices available in the whole form and I grounded them to use a fresh spice for the latte. You may use any good brand that is available and known to you.
- Milk- I have used Single Toned Dairy Milk. For a more creamy texture, you may use full-fat milk or add a layer of cream. If you wish to make this latte vegan, you may use dairy-free milk like coconut milk or almond milk.
- Sugar- Granulated white sugar works well. You may use jaggery in a cold latte but the calories won't reduce. If you are on a low-carb diet, you may use stevia instead.
- Ice- Top your latte with fresh ice cubes. If you like a hot latte or the weather is cold, heat the milk and add pumpkin puree-coffee blend mix gradually and keep cooking on simmer. Add sugar and spice it up with pumpkin spice!
Sugar can be skipped or replaced by jaggery powder. Jaggery is a healthy substitute for refined sugar. That doesn't mean the calories would decrease a lot.
Variations
You may add more deliciousness to this pumpkin spice latte by adding-
- Salted caramel.
- Nutella.
- Maple syrup.
- Creamy froth.
- More pumpkin puree if you love its flavor.
- More pumpkin spice and skipping pumpkin puree, though the real flavor comes from the puree only!
How is this Coffee Healthy?
This coffee doesn't make use of any market-heavy creams. Rather uses a hint of cream from the top of the milk (Malai called in India) and uses fresh pumpkin puree. It is not loaded with high sugar or cream that essentially adds to the carbs.

Expert Tips
- The homemade pumpkin puree may be runny as it's made by boiling the raw pumpkin in a pressure cooker with water. You may sieve it before adding, cook it to let the water absorb in it, or add less of milk to have the consistency you wish for.
- When blending puree, coffee, and sugar, don't add any extra water if the puree is homemade. Let it be a smooth and creamy mixture.
- You may blend by hand or with a blender.
- For a hot pumpkin latte, make sure to use a heavy-bottomed saucepan and cook on a slow flame.
Storage Suggestions
I would be surprised if you have any leftovers. You may store the leftover latte in a closed container with a lid in the refrigerator for about 2 days. I don't recommend freezing it.
FAQ
Yes, the iced latte is sweet and flavorful.
Well, though it has pumpkin puree, it tastes like a creamy latte rich in aromatic flavors of pumpkin spice- cinnamon and cardamom are really dominating flavors. You may always control the flavor as per your liking.
I have used the Nescafe brand of coffee and this latte has about 1.5 tablespoon of Nescafe, which means approx 60mg of caffeine.

Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte {Healthy and Homemade}
Equipment
- 1 Blender
Ingredients
- 1.5 tablespoon pumpkin puree You may make it in advance
- 1.5 tablespoons sugar You may increase or decrease
- 1.5 tablespoons coffee I have used Nescafe.
- 1.5 teaspoon Pumpkin Spice
- 2.5 cups milk I have used single toned
Instructions
- Take all the ingredients in a bowl. For pumpkin puree, you may make it a day previous. The time includes the time to make it. Similarly, pumpkin spice can be made by coarsely grinding cinnamon, cardamom, black pepper and ginger powder. You may also add nutmeg. I couldnt procure it.
- Take a large cup. Add to it the coffee powder with little milk along with sugar and beat it for 1-2 min. You may use an electric beater if you wish to. I could do it with spatula easily.
- Add fresh cream to it and mix again for 1 min till it becomes a smooth mixture. I didnt have market cream. I used the fresh cream from the milk. It was not very creamy though but tasted delicious. If you have full cream milk, you can get enough cream from it. You may boil it a day before and refrigerate it once it cools off. You may check after 5 hours, a thick layer of cream would have been floating on the top of milk. You may use a fork to take it out gently.
- Add the pumpkin puree along with pumpkin spices and mix well for a min. I added cinnamon religiously as it just brings the real flavour to the latte.
- Mix well to have a smooth mixture.
- Add this mixture to a blender.
- Add more milk and pulse it for min. I have used blender to get the layer of froth. you may use an immersion or electric blender as it suits you.
- The utterly delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte is ready!! Serve it chilled!. If you like it warm, you use warm milk at all steps where I have used milk.
