    These Healthy Vegetarian Soups are hearty and delicious and can be had as a light meal or snack. Being an Indian, my breakfast has always been Desi Ghee Paratha. I was never exposed to soups or a clean diet as I never needed it back then. The change in lifestyle provoked me to introduce low-calorie recipes that are tasty and made with easily available food items that need no special ingredients. It was then when I started creating veg soups that could be made in less than 30 min.

    A busy day can make you choose a quick option to make a snack by using knorr packet soups. The question is: Is knorr soup healthy?

    I would say No. Anything that is packaged food is not healthy. It might be easy and tasty but isn't it true about all the street foods. We may have them once in a while, not as a daily meal. That holds true for packaged cornflakes and muesli too. They have hidden sugars and salts that add to your weight. Next time when you decide to have cornflakes, read the calorie label and you would realize your mom's paratha is better. It is fresh with healthy fats and keeps you full for longer.

    Honestly, I love the aroma of naturally thin low-fat soups and they are not that tough to make. A little planning is all you need to save time and wastage!

    Are Soups a Good Way to Lose Weight?

    Depends on you. Losing weight is a long journey. The first thought: do you need to lose weight or do you think that it would be a good idea as everyone might be doing the same? Ask this from yourself.

    Yes, soups can totally help you lose weight if you don't munch later. Skip munching on any Namkeens or biscuits and have a bowl of soup instead. A bowl of namkeen can be as high as 120 calories whereas a bowl of soup can be as low as 45 calories, which would be just not empty calories.

    Tips for naturally low-calorie soups:

    • Use high fiber and low-calorie vegetables like cabbage, carrot, pumpkin, bottle gourd, mushrooms, etc.
    • Add beans, lentils, boiled potato to make your soup thick instead of refined flours or heavy creams.
    • Add little oil to have a tasty soup.
    • Use fresh ingredients always.
