Making this 2-ingredient Banana Icecream is not just an easy affair but also a delicious treat.
I was so much craving for an ice cream and didnt wish to add heavy stuff like full cream etc. I had milkmaid leftover so I thought to myself, why not to use it in a simpler recipe. Bananas were ripe too. Just thought to blend them. and that s it!!
My Banana Icecream was made in such minimum efforts. I had no worries to add loads of cream to make a creamy ice cream as bananas are naturally creamy and didnt have an ounce of frozen water in it.
What a rich and healthy dessert it is!
I added Munacca(Raisins) as nuts and cinnamon-cardamom powder for flavour and no sugar was added. Yes, it was not very sugary as I used milkmaid also in less quantity. My pantry didnt have jaggery so I could not use it. If you have it, its a perfect choice for sugary flavour.
Ingredients Overview
I had frozen three medium bananas overnight. Next day, I blended them with milkmaid and raisins and froze again.
Given the work load of household tasks, I am so much drawn to the best and simplest recipe. I believe most of my readers are multi taskers and handling so many tasks becomes tiring and takes its toll on our health.
That invariably creates a need to have a handy recipe that is quick and guilt-free too.
Why dont you try it and tell me how was your healthy banana Icecream?
Can I make it Vegan?
Yes for sure. I have used MilkMaid which is not vegan So all you need to do is replace it with Almond milk, Soy Milk or coconut milk depending upon which flavour you wish to add to your Icecream.
Which fruits can be used?
Well this recipe can be easily extended to make a lot many Icecreams using your choice of fruits. I always prefer local fruits and vegetables and I would recommend the same to you.
If you have a garden of homegrown veggies and fruits, nothing like it. This is my dream to have self-grown fruits and vegetables.

So pluck your berries and mangoes and head to refrigerator!! As far as creaminess is concerned, thats best achieved in bananas as they are naturally creamy and give a rich texture just like an ice cream and that too without any cream added to it and with a bundle of nutrition.
I believe that is an incredible weight-loss recipe.
Can Jaggery be added?
Since I had just added little milkmaid, the icecream was not very sweet. It was mild sweet. If you wish to have sweet-like- sweet, you may add more milkmaid, castor sugar(sugar in powdered form) or jaggery for a healthy version.
To use Jaggery, you may add jaggery in water for sometime and slowly it will soften up and can be easily blended with other ingredients. One may also use honey in this recipe.
Can Kids have it?
Why on earth we would forbid kids to have it?
This is the simplest way to make them eat healthy.
Unless you are talking about toddlers (6months-1yr) as in that case, we have to be careful with the choice of milk and sugar.
Its recommended not to give milk, salt, and sugar to under 1 yr old. One may omit milk and add some other fruit instead.
Reaction of my family
Its been a while that I have been blogging and I have received amazing response from few real followers about my stories. It seems they love my family stories more than the food I make for them!!
Family is the first one to taste food cooked by me and they are my best judge. I wait for their approval before finalizing any recipe.
If you have been reading my posts, you would be knowing the responses my little one gives and how much she is excited when I am seen in kitchen taking shots.
She is so overwhelmed when I call her to hold a backdrop or her old dress. Her momentum makes her bring more of her stuff to me and she enjoys this whole process and I am so glad that reading it makes you smile.
Till I bring another recipe along with the story, you enjoy this one!!

Ingredients
- 3-4 medium banana freeze them overnight.
- 1.5 tablespoon milkmaid can replace with vegan milk
- 8-10 small raisins (Munacca) can chop them in small and remove seed if any
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon and cardamom powder
Instructions
- Freeze banana overnight . Next morning, take them out. They would be very cold. I have used ripe bananas.
- Peel them and chop them. They might seem tough but once blended, they would be really smooth.
- Add them to blender.
- Keep pulsing on and off as this step takes around 2-3 min since bananas are super cold, You may see from the pic how creamy they turn out to be. Believe me they are just bananas.
- Add the spices.
- Add Milkmaid and blend again.
- Add few nuts and blend again. You may add any nuts of your choice.
- Transfer it to any container. I have used Hindalium pan and I had covered it with Aluminium foil. then with a lid and kept in freezer for 5-6 hours or so.
- After 6 hours, it was slightly dark in tone as bananas oxidized a bit and it was super creamy.
- Banana Icecream is ready! Enjoy your scoop !!
